NZ Musician Magazine
I was interviewed by Sam Smith in late 2018 for a feature about myself and Nick Fulton for NZ Musician.
The article focused on how we have created successful careers as freelance writers from New Zealand in New York.
I was interviewed for a feature about myself and Nick Fulton for NO Magazine, a quarterly arts and culture publication from New Zealand.
The article, published in 2010, focused on our achievements as writers and the music website we co-founded, Einstein Music Journal.
Radio New Zealand
I was interviewed for a feature on Radio New Zealand National (the country's public radio station) about Borderline Music Festival in 2010, with Nick Fulton, my co-editor at Einstein Music Journal. Hear us interviewed by Matthew Crawley from 7:38 minutes in.
Message Not Received book
American author Phil Simon featured my writing and illustration in his seventh book, Message Not Received (published by Wiley in 2015), on pages 57-58.
I originally published the writing and illustration
in a blog post on Medium (Drowning in Data: When News is Noise), when Phil asked if he
could include it in his book.
My initial post also inspired a response article
from writer Scott Berkun, which was published in Offscreen magazine.
I was interviewed by Spook Magazine along with Alice Hutchison about the art project that we collaborated on.
Called Object/Reflect, the project was exhibited
at Off The Kerb Gallery in June 2015.
In 2009 I was invited to appear alongside Nick Fulton as a guest host of the New York City-based Breakthru Radio show 'Anatomy of a Blogger'.
We prerecorded a one-hour show of audio and music that was on rotation on the station for an entire week.
In 2011 I was a guest co-host along with Nick Fulton on the Waiheke Radio show 'Counting The Beat', hosted by Chris Walker on Auckland's Waiheke Island. The episode was called "CTB Meets EMJ".
Idealog Magazine (May/June 2007) wrote about
an advertising campaign concept I co-created
with Jenna Wee for fair-trade food company Scarborough Fair.
Our work was created for Lighthouse Ventures
as a part of the Bachelor of Communications degree at Auckland University of Technology.
In 2008 I co-hosted a weekly radio show on Auckland's 95bFM with Nick Fulton, my co-editor at Einstein Music Journal.
Each show was three hours long and focused on new music that had featured on the website.
In 2009 I was a weekly guest on David Klein's drive show
on Christchurch's RDU from 4-6pm every Wednesday.
For each show I would select and discuss two songs with Nick Fulton.
In 2009 I was a regular guest on Frank Eggleton and
Kirsten Paterson's show on Wellington's VBC, from
4-7pm every Friday.
Nick Fulton and I would discuss music news from New Zealand and around the world and play new songs.
The Guardian Music Blog
From January 2011 to March 2012 I represented New Zealand with Nick Fulton (as Einstein Music Journal), in a global collective of music writers
called the Music Alliance Pact.
MAP was syndicated in over 36 online publications around the world, including The Guardian Music Blog (UK), I Guess I'm Floating (USA) and I Heart Music (Canada).
My writing on Einstein Music Journal was syndicated on the website for UK music magazine Artrocker.
