Haley Bennett and Austin Stowell Choke on Gender Norms in ‘Swallow’

I interviewed actors Haley Bennett and Austin Stowell at Tribeca Film Festival about their new film Swallow.

We discussed the film's exploration of gender expectations and the disorder known as pica, which saw Haley's character swallow a thumb tack (among many other things), and saw Haley win the award for Best Actress in a US Narrative Feature at Tribeca.

We also talked about how the film satirized the one-percent, something Austin says he encountered growing up in Connecticut.
